Hello WebApps, FYI in case you'd like to propose a breakout session on something you're working on. -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Call for TPAC 2025 Breakout Sessions Resent-Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2025 11:13:26 +0000 Resent-From: chairs@w3.org Date: Mon, 21 Jul 2025 13:13:21 +0200 From: Alexandra Lacourba <alex@w3.org> Organisation: W3C To: chairs@w3.org <chairs@w3.org> CC: 'tp' <w3t-tpregister@w3.org> Dear Chairs, We look forward to seeing you in Japan for TPAC 2025 [1], 10-14 November in Kobe, Japan. NEW: This year, in response to requests to reduce the number of sessions scheduled in parallel: * We have more breakout slots (9, compared to 6 last year). We achieve this by scheduling breakout sessions on multiple days of TPAC. * We plan to use fewer rooms in any given slot (no more than 10 rooms in parallel, compared to 14 last year). * We will continue to look for opportunities to reduce the total number of sessions (e.g., by asking proponents to combine related sessions). You can help us by making sure your sessions are intended for community discussion of topics. Sessions should not be used for group meetings or as extra time for their group meeting agendas. Once again this year: * Participants will use GitHub to propose, discuss, and update session information. The meeting planners will automatically integrate this GitHub data into the TPAC 2025 site and breakout session calendar [2]. * All breakout sessions will have both a physical and a virtual component: a room in the event venue with Zoom teleconference support. Zoom information will be available from the TPAC breakout calendar. * Breakouts that are public (the default) will be open to anyone to join remotely, free of charge, without a TPAC registration. If you are a first-time breakout organizer and would like some help organizing your session, please contact us. To view proposed sessions: https://github.com/w3c/tpac2025-breakouts/issues Before proposing a session, please see good practices for session chairs and how to propose a session: https://github.com/w3c/tpac-breakouts/wiki/Good-Practices-for-Session-Chairs To propose a session: https://github.com/w3c/tpac2025-breakouts/issues/new?assignees=&labels=session&projects=&template=session.yml <https://github.com/w3c/tpac2025-breakouts/issues/new?assignees=&labels=session&projects=&template=session.yml> Session proposals received before 22 October will be allocated to the breakout slots on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We urge participants to propose breakout sessions by 22 October so that the meeting planners can work to resolve scheduling conflicts. On 3 November we expect to announce the breakout schedule for the first three days of the week. NEW: Some TPAC attendees have indicated that they would like the option of scheduling breakout sessions in response to discussions that take place at TPAC. For that reason, once TPAC has started attendees may propose additional breakout sessions. We will allocate those sessions to the Thursday afternoon breakout slot. We will allocate the sessions to that slot as we receive them. Once we have scheduled breakout sessions, they will appear in the TPAC 2025 breakout calendar [2]. Please contact François Daoust and Ian Jacobs <mailto:ij@w3.org,fd@w3.org?Subject=Re%3A%20Call%20for%20TPAC%202025%20Breakout%20sessions> with any questions about the organization of TPAC breakouts.
