The mission of the Service Workers Working Group is to enable Web applications to take advantage of persistent background processing, including hooks to enable bootstrapping of web applications while offline. This extension will give W3C additional time to prepare a new charter. The group is currently chaired by Jake Archibald (Google) and Matt Falkenhagen (Google).
