Hi All, On behalf of the Web Manifest spec editors, this is a call for consensus to split out the `ImageResource` dictionary and associated fetching behavior [1] from WebApp Manifest into its own specification. Aaron Gustafson, Microsoft, together with Rayan Kanso and Matt Giuca, Google, have kindly volunteered to be Editors. The rationale for the split is that there are a number of specs that would like to use this `ImageResource` dictionary in APIs (see [2] for more rationale). Splitting it from Web manifest allows it to be used as a general way of describing an image in for JS APIs without needing to rely on the Web Manifest spec. Additionally, the Web Manifest spec doesn't itself use the dictionary in a JS API, so it makes even more sense to just split it out. If you would like to formally object to the decision, please reply to this email and let us know by Friday the 25th EOD with a rationale for the objection. Out of respect for everyone already overflowing inbox, I kindly ask that you please refrain from replying with "+1" (silence is considered support!). If you'd like to participate, we invite you to subscribe to the "image-resource" repository [2]. Kind regards, Marcos [1] https://www.w3.org/TR/appmanifest/#imageresource-and-its-members [2] http://github.com/w3c/image-resource/
