@aphillips May I loop you in for your thoughts on the updated localization shape for icons (see the comment above, https://github.com/w3c/manifest/issues/975#issuecomment-3786087293)?

@carlosjeurissen @marcoscaceres @dmurph Using a similar same shape as `icon_variants` form Web Extensions (https://github.com/w3c/webextensions/blob/main/proposals/dark_mode_extension_icons.md#examples) would indeed have a certain appeal.
