Appreciate you confirming it looks correct

For transparency: I used AI tooling to assist with drafting and surfacing similar prior work, but this was not autonomously generated. We’ve been implementing a DOM-like model in our private codebase for over a year and had already encountered and fixed a similar edge case internally.

Our tooling flagged this WHATWG issue as potentially related. I read through the issue and the relevant spec text myself, verified the behavior independently, and then manually submitted the issue/PR and related browser bugs. I grouped the submissions to avoid losing track of pieces we had already validated.

Happy to add further rationale, tests, or revisions if anything looks off
