macchiati left a comment (whatwg/url#543) I agree that whatever revision is considered has to be rigorously tested. I'm thinking combinations of representative chars from each bidi class plus period, and verifying that for each, no char 'jumps over a dot' (reorders to be in a different label). Is that something like what you did, Harald?
