js-choi left a comment (w3c/manifest#1041) Related to this is the proposed “default UA transitions” extension to the View Transitions API. It would allow PWA authors to request that browsers not use their “default UA transitions” (e.g., sliding from the edge for back/forward) during view transitions. (Note that, in this proposal, the browser would reserve the right to override the author’s request and show the default UA transition anyway, but it would be able to signal to the author that it is overriding their request.)
