una left a comment (w3ctag/design-reviews#1058) > I had assumed that when the target popover is popover=hint, popovertarget and friends automatically use interest-based interactions to open it. Are there use cases of popover=hint popovers that still need to open on click? Yes, there might be situations where you want a hint popover that is opened on click. For example, an author might want a "more information" tooltip to be opened on click instead of on interest. This might still be a popover=hint, where it wouldn't close other auto popovers. An author might want to interest-trigger an auto popover with behavior that closes other popovers. They also might want to require a click to open a hint popover that doesn't close other auto popovers. The invoking action (interest, click) and the popover behavior (how it interacts with other popovers when opened) are two different things, and I wouldn't want to conflate them. -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub: https://github.com/w3ctag/design-reviews/issues/1058#issuecomment-3114251860 You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread.
