I landed a [fix](https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/6255192), following [Gecko's approach](https://g-issues.chromium.org/issues/391394132#comment4), thanks @smaug----. This should go out in Chromium 135. I'll need to watch for any compat problems, but I'm fairly optimistic.
