Putting this on the agenda for tomorrow's WG meetup, as I assume this should be a rather easy fix for the Webkit Team. Once fixed, editors (like svedit.dev) that handle oncompositionend would match the native contenteditable behavior.

@johanneswilm do we also need to spec this behavior?

Something like:

> When a composition (e.g. from `^`) is cancelled, `oncompositionend` should have event.data set to `^` too.
