I learned today that [Vue 3.5](https://blog.vuejs.org/posts/vue-3-5#useid is adding support for auto id generation, and apparently React supports it already.

You make good points @dead-claudia , I agree it is much nicer to wrap inputs inside labels, and I hadn't considered the benefits to accessibility for doing that.  I also hope the platform does provide alternative mechanisms for linking elements together other than only id's.  Perhaps by the time we start to see the platform actually going full speed ahead with declarative templating, such an alternative will be in place, and we can reexamine the utility of it.  But for now, it seems many libraries are finding it beneficial.
