Re: [w3c/editing] Should we propose "::caret" pseudo-element to CSS WG? (#158)

Was anything done about this? I'm currently working on a project where the caret is something like the "main character" of the app where it reacts to the way the user writes into a textarea. It takes a lot of JS trickery to emulate a caret that fits this purpose and the solution is far from perfect. 

A `::caret` pseudo element that can be styled like a div would be the perfect approach IMHO.
