Depends what you mean here but i articulate in [my Lovely Trees post](https://bkardell.com/blog/LovelyTrees.html) that it seems better to not rely on each component to have had to subclass in order to opt in, because approximately no one has.  But i agree with @nolanlawson's framing in his post that this is a coordination problem. I think there's another thing here as to whether you think this is supposed to be a sign, or a cop.  Maybe i can add yet another mode that will respect an explicit opt out, but i suppose it has the same problem:  no one has opted out.
