All the use-cases stated on this thread are targeting development time. I'm very sympathetic with that, and I have seen this first hand, that's what I wrote that little library, but it is my opinion that such feature can wait, you have workarounds, and we are in the process of getting scoped registries. Once we gather a lot more info, and see how developers -- specially big libraries authors -- respond to scoped registries, we can revisit this decision, to see if this is truly needed.
