No, it is a pattern. Someone who has to look up hierarchical in the dictionary would not be the editor of a specification like this. Or does not know that the word is used in the specification that it is at odds with. The same is true for someone who does not understand that a BNF can be used to specify a tree structure and then suggests `.*` as a grammar, which is not even correct. I don't think you don't know these things.
