@marcoscaceres, that is a very useful idea. Thank you. I don't know what is connected, separable (or "coincidental") from the standards POV. The star of the show for our users is the improved improves formatting and orientation-control that comes when the Manifest is applied. It may sound trivial but there are scores of artifacts that make the whole thing a badly-behaved mess without it. (Presumably that is why somebody invented Manifests.) Aside from that, what is "installation"? The appearance of an icon on the desktop? (Certainly no new security privileges are received.)
