@dway123 @mkruisselbrink let me know if [this comment](https://github.com/w3c/editing/issues/285#issuecomment-805516320) addresses your leak concerns or if you have alternatives that should be explored.

@rniwa I'm considering my [latest comment](https://github.com/w3c/editing/issues/285#issuecomment-805516320) a "Safari-compatible" solution since Safari will have the right behavior if the author supplies the proposed `{includeFiles: true}` option.  I listed some alternatives that I considered but decided not to pursue.  If you think there's another option that would be more compatible please let me know.
