@markcellus You missed a point: in the Shadow DOM of a `<styled-input>` element could be other elements required for the structure that will be styled. Also was mentioned that JS in the custom element adds _new_ behavior.

Yes, if you are _only_ performing CSS styling, no need for a Shadow DOM, but that is not the only use case that was described.
