Absolutely, and certainly not critically important in any way. At the moment I'm enjoying that this is something that works because it helps me sell the library ("check it out, you can just change values in the DOM!") - But it is something that I would be happy to give up if (_if_) the `setAttribute` approach proves significantly faster than using MutationObservers. Up to this point I don't really have the data to back one or the other.
