Regarding the relationship between SPC and Web Authentication, there are three main differences:

* With Web Authentication, only the RP can use their own credentials. With SPC, other parties can use those credentials as well, but with accompanying UX. This difference from Web Authentication is mentioned here in the spec: https://w3c.github.io/secure-payment-confirmation/#sctn-authentication
