# Back to ::slotted

It does what it does for many reasons discussed over the past 4 (and maybe more) years.

> Slots are provided by the host, so the host does the styling.
> ::slotted takes simple selectors

You have a young face (or you are a troll)  
So be glad you didn't have to do Web development 25 years ago with less standards.

Standards are agreed upon after (lengthy) discussions. 

They won't be changed just because a young gun starts calling every participant an idiot...  
(trust me... I tried when I was about your age.. 25 years ago)
