Hi @hadleybeeman,

The specification uses the concept of installed apps, and doesn't distinguish between the types whether native or web powered. The syntax and the method of verification is OS/platform specific.

To give a specific example, on Android, you can query for both native apps (by using the app's ID), and web apps (WebAPKs, by using the app's manifest URL).

That being said, although the spec uses the concept of installed apps, the explainer focuses on native apps. I'll update the explainer accordingly.
