I laid out three possible approaches here: https://github.com/w3c/manifest/issues/399#issuecomment-534274801 Can we document which of these we are pursuing? (It seems like either 2, but maybe 3.) To repeat that question: How should clearing local state interact with installed PWAs? The current privacy note in the spec just suggests that maybe users should be able to inspect the URL and hope they find, recognize and realize they can remove identifiers.
