Since then, Thunderbird has moved to supporting fewer encodings: Only those in the Encoding Standard plus UTF-7 and, in addition to the Encoding Standard label set, supporting Java 1.1 labels and a small number of other labels for these encodings. In practice, Thunderbird didn't get complaints about IBM437.
