The last I checked, having multiple independent implementations of a given feature was an [important exit criteria](https://www.w3.org/2019/Process-20190301/#implementation-experience) of W3C and [this working group](https://www.w3.org/2019/05/webapps-charter.html). Given the feedback that Gecko and WebKit will likely not implement this feature, the most appropriate action for the working group is to remove the event / feature from the specification.
