@calebdwilliams I understand you feel strongly about that. I appreciate you've raised a separate issue. Currently we're working through some more foundational questions, and it would be good if we could separate the two discussions. That way you can talk to the people involved in constructible stylesheets, which is a different group of people than the set of people in this thread. Right now it's frustrating because you're repeatedly asking us to work on something that we're not very knowledgeable about or focused on. I hope you'll get more interest from your new issue, and would ask you to confine the discussion there.

@rakina thank you, that's super-helpful. @rniwa (or others), considering the differences listed in https://github.com/w3c/webcomponents/issues/468#issuecomment-398646640, what are your thoughts? Which selectors do you prefer? Which type of !important effect do you prefer? Do you think it's important to be able to match shadow DOM descendants with selectors in the CE stylesheet, or is that too much intertwingling of the fetaures?
