This is a request for a review of the specific question "what attribute names should be valid for custom elements". In WHATWG it depends on whether they are customised built-in elements or autonomous custom elements, but in the W3C HTML spec it makes no distinction and restricts custom attribute names to be in the `data-` space (for authors).
