My preferred option is **Option B** as I am not a fan of **Option C**. The reason is that developers already complain that they have to define too many icons - which means that this might mean that they just end up defining an icon for say "ios" and thus ignore generic icon and thus, the icon will look worse on Android and Windows that today.
