I think the main thing that had been blocking it thus far is lack of the feature in implementations. I think that has been resolved. Going with a hack instead of doing the proper thing because you don't think it's your responsibility does seem like a problem of sorts. You could just any meanwhile.

I believe we previously came up with the requirement that the API should be good JavaScript and either IDL enables that or you need to just do it yourself and get IDL fixed (either later or right away).
