Re: [w3c/ServiceWorker] async waitUntil() does not allow extension on final promise resolution? (#1039)

I'm working on this in https://github.com/w3c/ServiceWorker/pull/1049, and had a feedback that if this design is tight: https://github.com/w3c/ServiceWorker/pull/1049#issuecomment-270807057. Also I sort of touched the ECMAScript internal slots to spec this, and that seems hacky. So, I'd like to understand more of how implementations actually did and will do to find a right specification devices and methods.
