Well, WebKit has not shipped this yet and there is still time for us to make changes if needed. Do not let my recent changes discourage you from doing the right thing spec-wise. My personal opinion is that we should choose the path that requires the less changes in all browsers to achieve interoperability and spec that (Note that this is not necessarily the cleanest solution). I have bad experience with the spec trying to "do the nicest / clean thing" but browsers never aligning.
