I agree with @annevk's sentiment here. It seems weird to suddenly allow this for a part of the platform for implementor/editor convenience when we've been refusing it for the rest of the platform despite developers requiring it for a long time (e.g. for grouping all sensors under a single namespace, see https://github.com/w3c/sensors/issues/127).
