I can't see why not.

It doesn't have to be synchronous (i.e., the prompt can be shown after a message loop). But it could be a fire-and-forget, with no need for the user to wait on it resolving when the dialog is shown. Then if you want to wait for the user's choice you use userChoice.

Exactly. I would feel more comfortable with this.

Agree. Making it fire and forget would be better.
