So what is the latest here? Copying the `ownerSVGElement` pattern as `ownerRootNode` would be another option maybe. I like that better than the various names @esprehn came up with it. Anyway, if we don't have something by next Friday my plan is to drop the feature from the standard and leave it to JavaScript libraries.
