Warning: naming bikeshed ahead... feel free to ignore. I think an interface for manual allocation might be useful, but not sure the "feedable" metaphor resonates. I've seen this kind of thing called an "allocation strategy" other places, etc. It seems this would definitely be a power user feature, though.
