"To track requested imports, each document has an import link list, each of
whose item is consist of link, the link element and location, a URL. Also, the
item is optionally marked as branch. The list is empty at beginning and the
item is added as import request algorithm specifies."

This should probably rephrased along the lines of:

"To track requested imports, each document has an import link list. Each of its
items consists of link, a link element, and location, a URL. Also, the item is
optionally marked as branch. The list is initially empty, and items are added
to it as specified by the import request algorithm."
