I'm still thinking about Jonas' example, but do you mind explaining clearly the
issue here?  At least in my simple example, the nodes in the final flattened
tree (so ignoring the insertion points and shadow roots, which are not present
in the flattened tree) see the event in the order 3,2,9,6,5,1, which seems like
the expected order...
