Hi there.. wrt Chris' original comment - I was unaware of it (till now, when I
came across it), and had posted a nearly identical one here:

So, OK, good to know developers can still use async=false "if they want". Given
that, the word 'deprecated' does not make sense, and confuses developers who
will think that sync loading is going to be removed at some point in the
future.
