Concluding my StandICT.eu Fellowship

Dear WoT Working Group and Web Thing Protocol Community Group,

Today marks the end of my six month StandICT.eu <https://standict.eu/>
fellowship, working on "Out-of-the-box Interoperability on the Web of
Things".

As part of this project we have delivered:

   - A new Working Draft
   <https://www.w3.org/TR/2025/WD-wot-profile-20251028/> of the Web of
   Things (WoT) Profiles 1.0 specification
   - A Working Group Draft Note
   <https://w3c.github.io/wot-profile/requirements/publication/1-dnote/>
(pending
publication) as a starting point for WoT Profiles 2.0 Use Cases &
   Requirements
   - A Community Group Draft Report
<https://w3c.github.io/web-thing-protocol/> of the Web Thing Protocol
   specification

Over the course of this project 70 issues were closed and 56 pull requests
were landed between the two W3C GitHub repositories - each requiring group
discussion and approvals.

The WoT Profiles 1.0 specification is now in a much better state then when
we started, the Web Thing Protocol specification has grown from a mostly
empty document to a 14,000 word peer-reviewed specification ready for
implementation, and the WoT Profiles 2.0 Use Cases & Requirements document
represents a great starting point for a potential WoT Profiles 2.0
specification in the next charter period.

I would like to thank members of the WoT Working Group and Web Thing
Protocol Community Group for their hard work and cooperation in making this
possible, and for putting up with me pestering people to get things
finished even though they didn't share my deadlines!

I hope to continue to participate, albeit at a reduced pace for the time
being, and am seeking follow-up funding to continue this important work.

Kind regards

Ben
