This group should not be considered inactive according to that FAQ:

   - There are more than 3 participants
   <https://www.w3.org/community/web-thing-protocol/participants>
   - There is a Chair
   <https://www.w3.org/community/web-thing-protocol/participants>
   - There has been activity in the GitHub repository
   <https://github.com/w3c/web-thing-protocol/commits/master/> within the
   past six months

<https://www.w3.org/community/reports/web-thing-protocol/CG-FINAL-web-thing-protocol-requirements-20231101/#introduction>
:

"...The Web Thing Protocol specification itself, or subsections of it, are
intended to eventually join a standards track at the W3C or another
standards body such as the IETF."
