Hi CG/BG System, Thank you for the heads up. I'm the Chair of the Web Thing Protocol Community Group. You are correct that there has been little activity in the group since September 2022. Since our meeting at TPAC last year I have been waiting: 1. To receive any further feedback on our use cases and requirements <https://w3c.github.io/web-thing-protocol/requirements/> document before publication 2. To wait to see which (if any) of those requirements might in fact be satisfied by the W3C WoT Profile <https://github.com/w3c/wot-profile> specification from the W3C WoT Working Group It has now become clear that: 1. The WoT Profile specification will definitely not satisfy our proposed requirements for a WebSocket sub-protocol <https://w3c.github.io/web-thing-protocol/requirements/#websocket-sub-protocol> 2. The WoT Profile specification will not satisfy our proposed requirements for an HTTP Sub-protocol <https://w3c.github.io/web-thing-protocol/requirements/#http-sub-protocol> within the current charter period of the WoT Working Group 3. Incubation by this group of a WebSocket sub-protocol in particular would be welcomed by the WoT Working Group, and could potentially form part of a future profile specification published by that group I therefore plan to propose a resolution to publish our use cases and requirements document in full, and begin work on a Web Thing Protocol specification imminently, starting with satisfying the WebSocket sub-protocol requirements, with the intention of publishing it as a CG Report. My company has also now started work on both a client and server implementation which we intend to act as one implementation of that specification, and we have interest from at least 12 other participants to take part. I hope that this explains the recent inactivity and is enough to reassure you that this group should remain open.
