My name is Andrew Brown and I am a self-taught monetary scientist. Degree
in accounting from UT Austin, 10+ years of software development, 10+ years
studying gold, markets and trading, central banking, bonds, law, and the
relevant history.
In my opinion, all financial transactions (including web payments) can be
described in terms of:
One promise for another.
Did each side deliver?
(watch out for implied promises)
No transaction is instantaneous.
An example:
transaction
promise
1USD
endpromise
promise
1 pack of gum
endpromise
endtransaction
The subject is huge and significant, and the above is the result of many
years of study. Further fields would be status (delivered or open), dates,
people involved, etc.
