AdaltonLeite has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/web-nfc: == Question about Payment with Web NFC == Hi team, I am very interested in this Web NFC initiative and would like to see if you have discussed the feasibility of having this API available to read data from a credit/debit cards. ### Context Currently, [Visa](https://usa.visa.com/visa-everywhere/innovation/connected-commerce/tap-to-phone.html), [Master](https://www.mastercard.com/global/en/business/overview/start-accepting/mobile-pos/tap-on-phone.html) and [AMEX](https://www.americanexpress.com/hk/en/business/merchant/amex-tap-on-mobile.html) support payments in native applications with your physical card, which they call Tap to Everything payments. The problem is that this requires a certain level of integration between a mobile application and using the mobile kernel to collect the data. Looking at some data about the support of this feature in a web browser, I didn't see any references, so I have a question below. ### Question Is it factible for this API to support reading data from a credit/debit card? This would enable the browser to read the card data and go on to process the data. We know we have security issues that should be analyzed, but this API would support reading an NFC from a cards?
