What matters for back-compatibility is a consistency of mapping to and from NDEF records. Having additional values for "type", which may be deprecated later, are indeed not terribly relevant. Of course a clean design is preferable :), but with the current constraints I don't have problems addressing URL's as ```type == 'url'``` or 'text/url' or 'text/uri-list' with the note that in this spec it actually denotes a single URL. -- GitHub Notif of comment by zolkis See https://github.com/w3c/web-nfc/issues/26#issuecomment-130369219
