@f138150 Peripheral mode is how devices (heart rate monitors, beacons, etc.) tell nearby devices of their presence. If a device doesn't support Peripheral mode then it can't communicate its presence so the API won't be able to find it. That said, it's surprising a 4.2 BLE device doesn't support Peripheral mode.
