Dear members of the Media & Entertainment Interest Group, For your information: -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: VOTE by 2025-11-21: Proposed Charter for the Media and Entertainment Interest Group Date: Tue, 21 Oct 2025 22:45:07 +0800 From: Xueyuan Jia <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] This is a Call for Review of a proposed recharter for the Media and Entertainment Interest Group: https://www.w3.org/2025/10/me-charter-ac.html Please review the charter and indicate your support using this online form: https://www.w3.org/wbs/33280/me-charter-2025/ The deadline for responses is 23:59 UTC on 2025-11-21 [0]. The mission of the Media and Entertainment Interest Group is to provide a forum for media-related technical discussions to track progress of media features on the Web within W3C groups and use of Web technologies by external organizations, and to identify use cases and requirements that existing and/or new specifications need to meet to achieve improved support for media services on the Web. The Interest Group has been up and running since 2011. The proposed charter does not change its scope. Main changes from the current charter are to align the text with the latest charter template, add a Background and Motivation section, and refresh the Coordination list. Also note renewed Chairs (and Staff Contact) to align with people availabilities looking forward. The proposed W3C Team resource for this group is 0.1 FTE. Current participants will not need to re-join the group if the new charter is approved. The horizontal review of the charter is available as a Strategy Github repository issue: https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/520 No comments were received on the draft charter during the charter refinement period.
