Minutes from MEIG meeting 5 August 2025

Dear all,

The minutes from yesterday's MEIG meeting are available [1].

Thank you to Mr Endo from NHK, who presented [2] the Media Content Metadata Japanese Community Group's work and their Interop Tokyo 2025 demo.

We also discussed the Media WG charter [3], which has just been approved, and concerns raised during review regarding proposed work on encrypted media [4]. Finally,  there were short updates on DataCue and IMSC 1.3.

The Media & Entertainment IG's own charter [5] expires on 31 October, so your co-chairs and W3C team contact will prepare an updated draft charter.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 2 September at 14:00 UTC. Agenda details TBC.
