Dear all, The minutes from the Media & Entertainment IG, Media Timed Events call on unbounded cues in WebVTT are available [1]. We discussed: * The proposed DataCue API [2] matches expected use cases, with 'type' field and 'value' which can be any data structure. There is a need to create a registry of types so that applications can recognise and understand how to interpret different cue schemes, and avoid use of conflicting definitions. * Consistent cue identifiers between WebVTT documents in segmented media may not be needed. Instead, identifiers of the domain-specific timed metadata objects may be useful. Input is needed from TTWG members. * Separating the DataCue API proposal from the browser parsing of emsg boxes proposal. Action items: * Chris to update the DataCue explainer: * Describe the need for a type registry * Separate the emsg box parsing proposal * Chris to follow up with TTWG members on requirements for cue identifiers * Chris to follow up DASH-IF on scope of emsg ids Next meeting: 15 November 2021 at 16:00 UTC Many thanks, Chris (for the MEIG co-chairs) [1] https://www.w3.org/2021/10/11-me-minutes.html [2] https://github.com/WICG/datacue/blob/main/explainer.md
