 W3C MEIG and WNIG joint meeting: Multicast Receiver API Confirmed

The next Media & Entertainment Interest Group meeting will be on Tuesday 6th April. This will be a joint meeting with the Web & Networks Interest Group.

We'll be joined by Jake Holland from Akamai, to talk about the [Multicast Receiver API](https://github.com/GrumpyOldTroll/wicg-multicast-receiver-api/blob/master/explainer.md) ([Chinese translation](https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/images/4/4e/%E5%BE%85%E5%AE%A3%E4%BC%A0_Web%E7%9B%B4%E6%92%AD%E4%B8%8B%E7%9A%84%E5%B9%BF%E6%92%AD%E7%BB%84%E6%92%AD%E6%8A%80%E6%9C%AF.pdf)), which proposes a secure method for browsers to subscribe to one-to-many multicast streams - one of the motivating use cases being live video streaming at scale. The API builds on a number of protocols standardized or in development at the IETF:

- DNS Reverse IP Automatic Multicast Tunneling (AMT) Discovery ([RFC 8777](https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc8777.html))
- Discovery Of Restconf Metadata for Source-specific multicast ([DORMS](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-mboned-dorms/))
- Circuit Breaker Assisted Congestion Control ([CBACC](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-mboned-cbacc/))
- Asymmetric Manifest-Based Integrity ([AMBI](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-mboned-ambi/))
