Dear all, The minutes and slides from today's Media & Entertainment IG and Web & Networks IG joint meeting are available [1, 2]. Thank you to Jake Holland for presenting the proposed Multicast Receiver API, and to Francois for scribing. I'd like to draw attention to a number of open questions raised in Jake's presentation: - How can the security and privacy concerns raised in the Chromium net-dev thread [3] be addressed? - Are use case-specific APIs preferable to a generic multicast receiver API? - If so, which use cases to target? - Live video streaming - Large file download - Real-time video conferencing (WebRTC) We'll discuss among the MEIG and WNIG co-chairs about organising follow up discussions. Details to be announced. At this stage, I recommend giving feedback via Jake's GitHub repository [4].. Many thanks, Chris (for the MEIG and WNIG co-chairs) [1] https://www.w3.org/2021/04/06-me-minutes.html [2] https://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/images/9/94/Multicast%2C_2021-04_%40W3C_Video_Interest_group-v2.pdf [3] https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/net-dev/c/TjbMyPKuRHs/m/01MYKqsSGgAJ [4] https://github.com/GrumpyOldTroll/wicg-multicast-receiver-api
